About the Bible

The Under the Sea Holy Bible, NIrV is a perfect gift for children ages 6 to 10. Themes of underwater fun and sparkling fish grace the interior of this wonderful children’s Bible. The outside is covered in foil and sparkle. The interior has color inserts featuring whimsical underwater scenes with themes of God’s care and love for each of us and all of creation.

My Thoughts on this Book

I love the cover of this Bible, with the colors and fish, it is very appealing to children. But I was really disappointed when I opened the Bible up. The font is very small, and pretty difficult to read.

There are several things in this Bible that will help children with their Bible study. The five page dictionary helps understand some of the words in the Bible, and the list of Great Bible Stories with verses to go along with the story are great tools to use with your children as they read this Bible. There are also several colorful pages throughout this Bible that are a beautiful addition.

Overall, I don’t think this is a Bible I would purchase for small children, because of the very small font.   I received this book from Blogging for Books to read and review. Book Description

In the VeggieTales Bible, Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber, and all their VeggieTales friends invite children to join them and get to know the Bible. In this full-text New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) Bible, each feature is specially designed to help children understand and love God’s Word.

MY REVIEW

The Veggie Tales Bible is so very cute for your children, thought I would have to agree with other reviewers, I would say this Bible would be better for 9-11 year olds. The cover is adorable, there are many full page color pictures throughout the Bible that will appeal to your child. The NIrV is easier for kids to read. There are other things that make this Bible special. There is an introductory page at the begging of each book, giving a summary of each book, verses, people, themes, stories and other points of interest in that book. You will also find many verses highlighted throughout each book for kids to memorize.

Overall this is a wonderful, adorable Bible for children to carry. I love Veggie Tales, so I would love this book for any young child in my family!

Faith Builders Bible, NIrV

faith builders bible
A new NIrV Bible for kids 6-10 that follows the popular brick-building trend.

The Faith Builders Bible, NIrV uses the popularity of brick-building pieces to engage children with the Word of God. Includes 24 full-color pages of illustrations plus the complete New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) of the Bible (from Genesis to Revelation) in a very readable, 9-point font size.

My Thoughts!

This is a little bit different Bible than I’ve reviewed previously, with the legos type picture on the front as well as throughout the Bible. The NIrV is like the NIV, only its the readers version. It has 24 double sided pages with Bible scenes made from Legos, some of which are, Noah, The Nativity, Jesus Walks on the Water and so many more! And there is a Building Block Verse of each of these pages as well. All in all, it is a pretty neat Bible for kids, though I do think it would be for the older kids, because the font is smaller than a lot of kids Bible fonts, and not so easy to read for little ones just starting to read.

I rec’d this Bible from BookLook Bloggers and Zondervan to read and review. The opinions here are mine alone.

Book Description

Start a bedtime Bible story tradition with your little ones tonight!

Young children thrive on routine and rituals, and a Bible story at bedtime is one of the best routines to establish! A combination Bible storybook and book of prayers, Words to Dream On is the perfect bedtime storybook for young children, with a “once upon a time” voice that is also true to God’s Word. Over 50 stories—from the Old and New Testaments—create an overview of the entire story arc of the Bible. Each story includes an engaging title, a Bedtime Blessing (a short summary thought), Words to Dream On (a brief Bible verse), and a Sleepy-Time Prayer (a good-night prayer tied to the theme of the story). The book also includes a short letter to parents that includes tested ideas for establishing a good bedtime routine with young children and tips for reading aloud to children at bedtime.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

This is a beautiful hard cover 224 page Bible story book that kids 4 to 8 year olds will love! The illustrations on each page are so eye catching and adorable, the colors will capture your child’s attention the moment they see this precious book. If you are looking for a really good Bible story book to read to your child at bedtime, this is the one to choose. The stories from the Bible are told in a way that little ones will stop and listen, and enjoy looking at the pictures as you read to them. In addition to the wonderful stories, this book gives really nice tips and info for parents to establish a nightly routine for your children to follow. Reading bedtime stories to children is so very important, and the is a good book to use for that, and to encourage your child to come to bed and listen at to the next story in this book,

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

The Story for Kids, is just that. If you are familiar with The Story for adults, this book is the same, just written for kids. The stories in this book can be read to smaller kids, and older kids can read the stories for themselves. The illustrations beautifully go with each story, and are pictures that kids will love to look at after the story is read to them. There are a lot of Bible Story books on the market today, and it is sometimes difficult to know which one to choose. And I will tell you, this is one that you will be happy you chose.

My Thoughts

The Berenstain Bears are learning how to respect those older than they are and they want to teach children to do the same. Though I don’t think this book is as well written as some of the others, I do think it’s a wonderful book to teach children to respect their elders. And how much do we need that today. And I like the Living Lights series of the bears books because it uses Biblical information and ideas to teach the child.

I would definitely purchase this book because its worth it for the lesson they learn. This is a great addition to any child’s library, and what I love about the Berenstain Bears is that children love them so much they will listen to them and do what they say!
