veggie tale bible

Book Description

In the VeggieTales Bible, Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber, and all their VeggieTales friends invite children to join them and get to know the Bible. In this full-text New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) Bible, each feature is specially designed to help children understand and love God’s Word.

MY REVIEW

The Veggie Tales Bible is so very cute for your children, thought I would have to agree with other reviewers, I would say this Bible would be better for 9-11 year olds. The cover is adorable, there are many full page color pictures throughout the Bible that will appeal to your child. The NIrV is easier for kids to read. There are other things that make this Bible special. There is an introductory page at the begging of each book, giving a summary of each book, verses, people, themes, stories and other points of interest in that book. You will also find many verses highlighted throughout each book for kids to memorize.

Overall this is a wonderful, adorable Bible for children to carry. I love Veggie Tales, so I would love this book for any young child in my family!

My THOUGHTS ON THIS BIBLE

What a beautiful Bible for young girls. The cover is absolutely beautiful, a pretty purple with a princess crown and five pearl rhinestones plus lots of bling! Which girls just love. It is the International Children’s Bible translation, easier for girls to understand.  This hardcover Bible is nice to use if you want to read the Bible without the study notes. Inside the front has a page for the name and date, family history, siblings. There are pages throughout the Bible asking the questions: Why should I read the Bible, How do I know Jesus loves me, and more. There are also colorful and interesting maps to help understand where scenes in the Bible takes place. Overall this is a precious Bible, one that I would love to carry if I was a young girl again!

Faith Builders Bible, NIrV

faith builders bible
A new NIrV Bible for kids 6-10 that follows the popular brick-building trend.

The Faith Builders Bible, NIrV uses the popularity of brick-building pieces to engage children with the Word of God. Includes 24 full-color pages of illustrations plus the complete New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) of the Bible (from Genesis to Revelation) in a very readable, 9-point font size.

My Thoughts!

This is a little bit different Bible than I’ve reviewed previously, with the legos type picture on the front as well as throughout the Bible. The NIrV is like the NIV, only its the readers version. It has 24 double sided pages with Bible scenes made from Legos, some of which are, Noah, The Nativity, Jesus Walks on the Water and so many more! And there is a Building Block Verse of each of these pages as well. All in all, it is a pretty neat Bible for kids, though I do think it would be for the older kids, because the font is smaller than a lot of kids Bible fonts, and not so easy to read for little ones just starting to read.

I rec’d this Bible from BookLook Bloggers and Zondervan to read and review. The opinions here are mine alone.

My Review

This is a great Bible that any young girl would love to carry. The cover is beautiful, love the colors and graphics. And the best part I think is the magnetic flap to keep the Bible closed. There are a number of features, its pretty much like the first Faith Girlz Bible, but I still recommend this new and different color one. Here is what you will find inside.

Dream Girl–Ever wondered what it was like to live in Bible times? This feature uses your imagination to show you what it may have been like to witness some key events.
Bring It On–This is a personal favorite of mine. They are scattered throughout and they are quizzes and each answer is backed up with a Bible verse.
Oh I get it! Q&A explaining some of the things you may not understand.
Treasure This!–Good verses for memorizing!
Is there a little____ in you?–Quizzes that will help you understand some Bible characters–and yourself–a little better.
In Your Own Words–You get to summarize some key events in Scripture in your own words.

If you are looking for a Bible for the young girl in your life, they would be very pleased with this one.

I would have to say that this is the cutest Children’s Bible I’ve seen. I love the cover! And any child is sure to love it too! I love the animals on the cover, because that is what will capture the eyes of children. And the inside is just for a child! The pictures, the captions, all of the different sections to teach children more about God’s Word are so eye catching and so very adorable. If you are looking for a Bible that your child will be eager to carry to church, and eager to read, this Bible would be a wonderful addition to your child’s library. The Candle Bible Handbook

Candle Bible Handbook

from Kregel

candle BIble handbook

Travel through Bible history with this comprehensible exploration of the Bible, following the key narratives from Genesis to Revelation. Perfect as a child’s first Bible reference, he will travel through Bible lands and times and discover how the people lived: the foods they ate, the homes they occupied, the clothes they wore, and the work they performed. There are sections of study questions throughout to further learning, as well as glossaries and FAQs to help understanding.

MY THOUGHTS

This is a really neat Bible handbook from Kregel Publishers. The Candle Bible Handbook is for 8 to 12 year olds and would be an awesome addition to their library, because it can be a wonderful study tool for your child to use while reading the Bible or reading Bible stories. There are many things to help with Bible study including study questions, tips to watch for when reading, an outline an description of the book, along with a little box with important information. And you will also find a section with Big ideas in the Bible, Bible Promises, Fifty very important passages in the Bible and Who’s Who in the Bible. And of course this is just a touch of what you will find in this neat handbook.

I really like this book that will be an additional study tool when studying the Bible. I found it interesting myself as I read through it and went over the different things added to help study. If you have kids in this age group, or I think even teenagers would like this, I highly recommend that you pick up a copy of The Candle Bible Handbook. You will find it very informative and interesting.

MY THOUGHTS
This is the cutest little Bible with handles. A sure hit for any small child. The board pages are thick so that children can’t rip the pages so they are plenty sturdy for even the smallest child. And the pictures are adorable with vivid colors that will capture any childs attention. The favorite for kids will be the handles they can carry their Bibles with. There is a little snap to close the Bible so it will not open when carried by the handles. Very cute and a nice gift for any child on your list.
