My Thoughts on The Journey
In this Bible study of The Story of the Birth of Jesus, the author breaks the events unto five lessons: Mary; Joseph; Elizabeth; The Journey to Bethlehem; and The Shepherds. In each lesson is chunked full of Bible teachings and activities having to do with each subject which are: Focus for the Teacher; Explore Interest Groups- these groups are broken down into things pertaining to the story. There are suggestions for large groups, small groups, younger children and older children, along with a number of pictures for the children to color.
I find this very interesting study of the birth of Jesus one that can be used for many years in your church or study group. And one neat thing is that Adam Hamilton wrote the studies for each age group in the church so the entire church can go through the study together. This is a wonderful idea.
The book itself is attractive inside and out, with a really neat layout inside to keep the interest of those going though this study. But more importantly you will learn more about Jesus in this study. You will learn about the places the story takes place, Bible times cultures, learn what the story means for our everyday lives, discover the real meaning of Christmas and lean fresh and new how to celebrate the birth of God’s Son.
Thank you to Abingdon Press for the generous copy of this book. I was in no obligation to write a positive review. The opinions in this review are mine only.
